While most of my time at REI was spent on supporting the apparel and gear teams, I was also asked to partner with the design research intern, Carly Landers, to create a vision for a lightweight hydration pack for REI’s Flash Pack line.

We did several rounds of co-creation research and then I took our learnings forward to the design phase. At the end of the project, I delivered a rough working mock up and the deck below. This work that Carly and I did ended up being the team’s starting point for the REI Swiftland 5 Hydration Vest, which was released in 2019.
